Our Staunton, VA facility to looking for a Press Operator for our Printing department. This position will be responsible for leading the operation of the press, which would include overall start-up, shut-down and day-to-day procedures and maintenance of the printing press, while operating in a safe, efficient and accurate manner.
Primary Responsibilities are, but not limited to the following:
Responsible for a wide variety of production related tasks
Verifies and follows production schedules, job specifications and instructions
Responsible for make-ready, set up and operation of press
Follows quality control procedures to obtain high quality and ensure customer satisfaction
Monitors all printing and press related processes and makes necessary adjustments
Performs basic troubleshooting
Completes job logs, production and quality paperwork
Responsible for all cleaning, preventative maintenance of presses
Provides direction, training, guidance to crew members
Follows all company safety requirements
Comply with all company rules and regulations
Performs other duties as required to achieve the overall goals and objectives of the company
An individual in this position must be able to learn and demonstrate the following skills;
Proficient in reading, writing and speaking to receive and give directions and instructions
Perform mathematical functions as related to press operations
Ability to troubleshoot and solve printing problems
Enhanced listening skills and ability to follow directions
Safely perform all tasks on and around press equipment
Knowledge of printing processes
Mechanical aptitude
Understands and operates Color Management System
Understands and operates Quality Management System
Understands and operates Press Console Functions
Understands all technical functions of printing press
